"We're looking forward to an awesome swimming season," Anna Macmillan, club treasurer and race secretary said.
Though some district pools will remain closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, Wingham Memorial Swimming Pool has been given the green light to reopen.
This is welcome news for the club after a difficult year of drought, fires and now a pandemic.
"The club has adapted to meet all COVID-19 requirements," said Anna.
This includes the appointment of a COVID-19 Safe Hygiene Marshal.
The club is hoping to attract new members and is holding a come and try night on October 7 at 6pm.
All ages and abilities are welcome and the club accepts the Active Kids Vouchers.
There will also be a swimming club meeting at 6pm on September 14 at Wingham Bowling Club.
This season's committee members are:
- President/recorder: Merrilee Doel
- Vice president: Jenny Watts
- Registrar: Monique Kippax-Farmer
- Secretary: Chantel Ferris
- Treasurer/race secretary: Anna Macmillan
- COVID marshall: Kristie Singe (pending)
The club's Annual General Meeting was held on August 24.
