"Our district swimming pools at Tea Gardens, Stroud, Bulahdelah, Nabiac, and Krambach will remain closed to casual visitors for now, however those with regular group bookings who have completed a COVID Safe plan and have current public liability insurance are still able to book these facilities," said Council's Manager of Community Spaces, Recreation and Trades, Dan Aldridge.
"The above swimming pools are unsupervised and with full public opening we would be unable to satisfy all of the NSW COVID19 requirements for pools, which require frequent cleaning, supervision of numbers using the pool, and collection of personal details of every person entering the facility."
The Gloucester Hydrotherapy pool is open as it is supervised, with strict COVID19 plans in place. All Council controlled lakes and beaches are open, along with natural swimming enclosures, such as tidal pools in rivers and lakes.
The Manning and Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centres have reopened, with COVID19 plans in place to ensure safety during use of swimming pools. Pool users are advised to check the Centre's websites before attending.
Wingham Swimming Pool, as a supervised facility will also be able to open for the summer season.
"Whether closed or not, and whether sign-posted or not, all public facilities such as parks, beaches and other open spaces are subject to the Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order, which will be enforced by NSW Police. It is important that you know what you can and can't do under the rules," said Mr Aldridge.
Those rules along with a full list of Council services and facilities that are open or closed due to COVID19 restrictions are available at www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/covid19.
