The baton, which carries a message from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, left Buckingham Palace on March 13 last year, and is set to arrive at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony on April 4.
Police say they were extraordinarily pleased with everyone's cooperation and understanding during necessary road closures for the event - in addition to everyone's behaviour during the relay itself.
It was a privilege to see so many residents and visitors line the streets of Tuncurry and Forster to witness the excitement, and to cheer on the 16 local baton-bearers, police said.
