Smoothy's double and upset win headlines Taree greyhounds meet | Photos

Killawarra trainer Brian Smoothy claimed two wins at the 10-race Taree Greyhound Club meeting at BBet Park on Friday February 19.

Trbojevic ($5.50) first paid well for punters in the Ranvet 4th/5th Grade 314m before Stash House ($1.95 favourite) won the My Bro Fabio @ Stud 4th/5th Grade 392m by about four lengths.

Kiarni Jye ($9.50) started the meeting perfectly for trainer Jeanette Roche, winning the Welcome to Bbet Park Taree Maiden 314m.

Race favourites took top honours in the next two races; Julie Laurantus' trained Gagan Eve ($1.90) in the Town Head Fruit and Veg Maiden 314m and Kerry Barrass' Major Control ($2.15) in the Mitch Jobson Painting Maiden 392m.

Flame Offiah ($26), trained by Mitch Jobson, won the Minnett and Wright Removals 0-2 Wins Mixed 537m.

It was a turn around of form for the dog, which finished last in the Wauchope Taxis 5th Grade 384m at Wauchope just four days before and seventh in the Get Your Name Here 1-3 Wins 5th Grade 388m at Gosford on February 9.

Guy Keeping ($1.80 favourite), trained by Margaret Wall, won the Bbet Price Pump 5th Grade 314m and Vicious ($3.60), trained by Denis Solomon, won the Royal Hotel Taree 5th Grade 392m in a tight finish.

Aston Shiloh ($3.60), trained by Clarence Town's Kevin Brennan, won its first race at Taree in the Australian Hotel Wingham 5th Grade 314m. This was Brennan's 23rd career win at Taree.

Pandora Wave ($4) closed out the meeting by winning the Pathways 5th Grade 314m.

This was trainer Vincent Cassar's second win for the year.

Racing returns to BBet Park in March.
