Cucumbers galore
Hubby John had good results with his garden this summer, especially with heaps of cucumbers and pimply squash together with tomatoes, carrots, lettuce and beetroot so we have enjoyed a feast of vegetables with our meals for many weeks now. I have made four large batches of cucumber pickles - many I have given away to friends who have all enjoyed them.
Long distance wishes
It was a long distance telephone call to our granddaughter Keala on Thursday January 14 for her 13th birthday and she is now officially a teenager. This year she will be going into second year at high school - time certainly moves on. John and I were lucky we were able to head to Queensland early December to wish her an early happy birthday.
Saturday opening
Tinonee Historical Museum re-opened on Saturday last and we were visited by relatives looking for McLeod Family history and the ladies were pleased with what we were able to show them. Due to Australia Day falling on Tuesday, January 26 this year the Museum will not be open but will be back on deck on Wednesday January 27, Friday 29 and Saturday 30.
Passing of Cheryl Anderson
Deepest sympathy is extended to Greg Anderson on the passing of his much loved mum, Cheryl Irene Anderson late of Taree West who passed away on Monday January 11, aged 73 years.
Cheryl's funeral service was conducted at St John's Anglican Church on Tuesday, January 19 followed by her interment in the Wingham Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers were accepted on behalf of Palliative Care and Oncology at Taree Hospital.
Cheryl had connections to Tinonee through her Dennes Family and to these family members we also extend condolences. Rest in peace Cheryl.
I personally remember Cheryl when she worked for the Donnelly Family at the original Town Head Fruit and Vegetables business when it was situated at the entrance to Town Head Saleyards many years ago.
Beautiful sunrises and sunsets
I wonder how many of my readers noticed the beautiful sunrise on Monday morning last - it certainly was most spectacular from my front balcony and worth a photo or two. This followed on from Saturday evening's even more spectacular sunset.
