Barry Smith our bowls secretary is preparing the monthly program and our pennant selectors - Col Watson, Peter Holden and Hunter Payton - will very soon put together some teams to have an 'in-house' trial on the 30th of this month.
The Club is entering two grades in this year's pennant competition which commences on March 6. Thirty eight registered players (including women) have indicated that they will be available for the season and that will leave 14 as spares. An annual trial against Gloucester is also being organised.
Wednesday 'Dad's Army' social
Tim Richardson has become a very crafty long-end player and he teamed up with Justin Costa and Greg Cuttance to win the event with a +15 against Greg Bartlett and Brian Williams. Tim stayed behind to collect his money and enjoy the sausage rolls and stewed peaches and cream supplied by Margaret and Col.
Dally Hammond and Eric Pereira had a +12 victory over Jim and John Gillogly.
Col Hinton and Winston Latimore got away to a great start to lead 18-3 against versatile George Sinclair and Andy Bissex but did win seven of the remaining ends to go down to Col by six shots.
Saturday Social
Col Watson, Claudia O'Donnell and Eric Pereira picked up five shots on the final end to get to 17 but went down to Tom Moore, Elaine Holden and Tim Richardson who got to 23 on the card.
Alana Burns and George Sinclair finished strong to defeat Peter Holden and Scott Hatton 20-14.
