Beth passed away at Storm Village Retirement Village, Taree after leaving her beloved 'Forest Lodge' Bootawa home, where she and her late husband Frank had lived for many years.
Left to mourn their mother's passing are son Jeff, daughters Wendy and Julie and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beth's funeral service was held at the Manning Great Lakes Memorial Gardens Chapel on Friday, November 27 at 3pm. Funeral arrangements were in the hands of Becker Family Funerals.
Beth had family connections with the Chapman and Cann families who were well known early pioneers of Tinonee and district. Rest in peace Beth.
Tinonee school news
It was an exciting day on Monday for Stage 3 students at Tinonee Public School when they headed off for their end of year excursion to the Australian Reptile Park and I am sure they would have thoroughly enjoyed themselves despite the lengthy journey to get there and back.
Parents are informed that MidCoast Council has made changes to parking in and around the school and relieving principal Mrs Elliott has asked that parents familiarise themselves with these to ensure the safety of all.
Presentation Day has been set down for Wednesday, December 10 at the Manning Entertainment Centre and with COVID-19 restrictions applying, it will certainly not be like the traditional one everyone is familiar with.
The Year 6's farewell will also take on a different arrangement this year being held in the school hall on Monday December 14 with further arrangements to be confirmed.
St Luke's Church news
St Luke's is finally getting to have its first service in many months on Thursday, December 3 commencing at 9.30am. However because of COVID-19 restrictions still applying, bookings with Rev Brian Ford are required and a mask is to be worn.
Museum news
Eight members were present for Tinonee Historical Society's final monthly meeting for 2020 on Thursday, November 26. Members were pleased with their recent garage sale but at this stage it won't be until sometime next year before another Bunnings barbecue will be held. Members paused to remember the passing of Mrs Beth Gibbs and extended sympathy to her family members.
Birthday wishes go out to president Jenny who will be celebrating another birthday as the end of the week - hope it is a great one spent with your family.
