John and I filled in our long weekend Monday afternoon with a trip to Fay's Twin Cinema Taree to see the movie "Slim and I" which we thoroughly enjoyed.

There was so much that we learnt about the Australia country music star and his wife Joy.
A quick snippet in the movie even showed an Eggin's Bus with Taree on the destination notice, whilst visiting Purfleet.
John and I visited the Slim Dusty Centre at Kempsey last year and found it most interesting and after seeing the movie think we might make a return visit to have a more in depth look over it.
I can highly recommend the museum at Kempsey for a day trip or group outing.
School's back
Staff, students and canteen workers have all returned to Tinonee Public School after their spring break of two weeks.
I trust all had a safe and happy time and did something special during the break.
At least the weather was kind most of the time and the days were good for the beach and sightseeing.
Annual general meeting
It's that time of the year again for members of NSW CWA to hold their annual general meetings - and my branch, Wallamba, is no exception and they held their meeting on Tuesday, October 14 at the Uniting Church Hall Nabiac. I will have a wrap up on it next week but expect that most of the ladies holding positions will continue in them.
Both Wingham and Taree branches will also hold their meetings very shortly.
Birthday wishes
Many happy birthday wishes go out to friend Andrew Prentice for his special day on Thursday, October 15.
I hope you have a great day shared with wife Sue and a couple of friends and family maybe in these difficult times, with maybe a birthday cake on the menu.
Tinonee hall renovations
Many thanks to builder and former Tinonee local, Graham Reed who has undertaken some much needed renovations on Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Hall.
Graham has replaced the decking on the disabled ramp, replaced guttering that 'had seen better days' on the side and back and his last job was the replacement of the steps and landing leading from the stage on the outside of the building - all much needed on our heritage-listed hall.
The work has been carried out with the help of the NSW Government Community Building Partnership Program Grant which is very much appreciated.
