Participants can register for the dinner, hosted at your place or a venue of your choosing, for example a picnic at a park or beach, for $30 per person.
Each ticket purchased goes into a draw for a prize of seven nights accommodation for two (in 2022) at the Waimarie Apartments on Lord Howe Island.
Invite your family and friends or simply throw a meal together for the family or yourself. No going out costs!
Dress is black tie, casual, or PJs. Share photos of your dinner on the First Steps Count Child and Community Centre Facebook page for the record. This is not a 'participation required on Zoom' event!
However, you can jump on to the First Steps Count Child and Community Centre Facebook page during the evening to watch live videos to learn how to make a cocktail and have 'live' entertainment while you dine. The video schedule is as follows:
- 6pm Donna Carrier with Sean, will make a Negroni cocktail
- 6.30 pm performance by Jake Davey
- 7.00 pm Clare Brennan, First Steps Count transition manager, will do an Acknowledgement of Country and welcome address.
- 7.30 pm Matt Zarb and friends will provide musical entertainment
Tickets are available through Eventbrite at www.eventbrite.com.au/e/115323471608.
The prize will be drawn at the First Steps Count Inc. board meeting on Monday, September 21, 2020.
The First Steps Count Child and Community Centre will be constructed in Myall Avenue, Taree (behind Manning Gardens School). Despite unforseen delays including COVID restrictions, construction is soon to begin. Funding has been obtained to construct the building. Funds raised by the Virtual Dinner will go towards $50,000 still needed for internal fixtures and fittings, landscaping and playgrounds.
First Steps Count Child and Community Centre will provide a unique facility for service providers to deliver coordinated programs for children, families and young people as well as serving as a vibrant community hub.
