The home team had the best of play early, and were rewarded with a try just before the first break to lead 4-0.
Just before half time, Harry Lewis put through a kick, and was able to retrieve the ball for a try to level the scores.
The third quarter passed without troubling the scoreboard.
As the rain began to fall, with about seven minutes remaining, Will Gee scored near the posts. Hayden Essery added the extra points to lead 10-4.
The young Tigers were able to hang on for victory in a game that could have gone either way.
Macleay Valley 4 lost to Wingham 10 (Harry Lewis, Will Gee tries, Hayden Essery goal).
