About Sallie
Sallie had been a TAFE teacher of commercial photography for 25 years, after having had a freelance photography career for nearly 20 years and moved to Wingham from Sydney in 2018.
This will be her seventh solo exhibition, along with having contributed to over 50 group shows.
"When you research something that fascinates you, where do you stop? This is only the beginning of sharing my composed surreal images" Sally said.
Surrealism has always been Sallie's favourite period of art history.
In the last 10 years she has particularly been interested in exploring the Surreal photographically.
Sally's earlier processes involved the dark red room, with negatives of silver and chemistry. Now we see an amalgamation with technological changes through digital Imaging. Sallie said the journey continues to fascinate and inspire her and inform her creative practice.
Sallie is a dexterous photographer whose wealth of technical skills, teaching and exhibition experience, together with her astute inquiry into 'Surrealism' and 'The Surreal' in all its forms affords something for all in this show.
