With the onslaught of winter coming, Jenny Ferry, social activities coordinator of Meander Village retirement community at Wyong, contacted CWA Toukley saying that the residents would like to help bushfire victims in the Bobin and Lansdowne regions on the Mid Coast.

They got busy and produced nearly two dozen knee rugs of beautiful bright colours, either knitted or crocheted, plus many other items of clothing, toys, toiletries, groceries and even a huge packet of dog biscuits - small gifts to make life easier for many families, some of whom, are still living in caravans, tents and sheds.
Between the village and CWA Toukley branch more than 20 boxes were packed with goods. Toukley CWA contacted Wingham CWA and arranged for these items to be received and distributed to those in need.
