Since your last edition of Best On Ground, the league has uprooted all Victorian teams for the remainder of the season.
They'll be based in Queensland. With the announcement, which came from AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan on Wednesday, the sunshine state also grabbed favouritism to host this season's grand final.
Nothing is confirmed yet, but the AFL has put a line through Victoria. No further matches will be played at any Victorian ground with COVID-19 infection rates climbing.
Onto the footy. Tonight, we find out if Geelong is a genuine contender when it battles an in-form Collingwood at Optus Stadium in Perth.
Collingwood has recalled Jordan De Goey and Josh Daicos, while Geelong will include Jack Steven.
First-round draft pick Jordan Clark will also pull on the hoops as the Cats vie for equal-first place.
Mitch Duncan and Quiton Narkle, both battling hamstring complaints, drop out while for Collingwood, Matt Scharenberg (ribs) and Will Kelly (elbow) will miss.
Elsewhere, Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beverage has forecast as many as four changes as his side fights to bounce back from a 52-point loss to Carlton against Essendon on Friday night.
A debut for youngster Cody Weightman beckons while Hayden Crozier is a certainty to return. Lewis Young and Matt Suckling are also in the mix.
Greater Western Sydney is also chasing a win over Brisbane in Leon Cameron's 150th AFL match as a coach.
Can Gold Coast continue its impressive start to the season with a win over Sydney?
To round out the weekend, be sure to watch the western derby clash between Fremantle and West Coast. It'll be a fascinating encounter!
