Mareah arrived in the Wootton area in 1980 with her husband Rob, after a busy life in Queensland running properties and businesses in the Clermont area.
They brought some bos indicus cattle to their new property and were active in the local Bos Indicus Society.
Mareah is remembered for her love of driving, antiques and reading, her passions for knitting, gardening and cooking, and her accuracy with grammar.
Her ability to relate to people she met in everyday situations was exceptional. She was a person whose memorable interactions stayed with you, after a meeting or a visit.
Caring for her community was also a priority for Mareah and she took an active part in the CWA and gardening organisations. She was actively involved in the Wingham community, having joined local organisations.
Mareah died peacefully in Armidale while on one of her road trips.
Those that knew her will miss her companionship, her humour and her knowledge.
