News was received at the end of last week on the passing of Mrs Hilda Sutherland aged in her late 80's. Hilda passed away on March 25 at a nursing home in the Kellyville district NSW.
Hilda was the loving wife of the late Dr Iain Sutherland, a much loved and dedicated medical practitioner who had a surgery in Wingham begun in the late 1960s. Iain retired a number of years ago and sadly passed away about two years ago.
Dr Iain was our family doctor when first married and he looked after John and I and the children and became a good friend.
To Hilda's family and extended families we extend our deepest sympathy on the loss of a special lady.
Emergency airlift
Around 10pm Sunday night the silence was broken by the arrival of a Westpac Helicopter on Tinonee Recreation Oval. It was well over an hour before it took off and headed south. We are so lucky to have the oval as a landing facility and the wonderful emergency services to help when such emergencies occur.
Quiet in Tinonee
Things are very quiet around Tinonee and people are trying to do the right thing with preventing the spread of the coronavirus and we hope we can all get through this crisis and stay calm and well.
I have been calling family and friends and checking on them as they do their best to self isolate and obey all the rules being enforced by government.
Take care, stay safe and well.
