Wingham and Valley Vets have made alterations to their businesses practices to take into account social distancing rules due to COVID-19.

"Caring for our patients, clients and staff, whilst helping to fight the spread of Covid-19 is our highest priority," said Alissa Healy, director of Wingham and Valley Vets.

"We are continuing to implement the government's public health recommendations, to do our part in fighting the pandemic and help protect the most vulnerable members of our community."

To minimise contact between people and ensure adequate social distancing, Wingham and Valley Vets recommend that, where possible, clients who need to purchase medications, food or preventative products phone them on 6557 0000 to place their order.

You can then pay for the products over the phone and staff will advise you when the products will be available for collection. To collect from the clinic in Wingham, stay in the carpark, phone to let staff know you are waiting, and they will take the products out to your car.

Free Home deliveries are being offered every Thursday to assist clients who are self-isolating or who do not have transportation to come to the clinic. These deliveries of medications, foods or preventatives will be to the Wingham, Tinonee, and Taree areas.

If you would like products delivered on the Thursday, contact Wingham and Valley Vets before 2pm on the Tuesday beforehand, as out of stock products that are ordered before 2pm will usually arrive the following day.

Temporary rostering changes at the clinic have also been made. From Monday March 30, two separate vet and nurse teams will be implemented. Each team will have no contact with the members of the other team. This is to ensure that, should a staff member contract Covid-19 and their workmates in the practice require quarantine, the other vet and nurse team can continue to provide veterinary care to patients.

Opening hours remain unchanged. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the practice will be staffed by Michael, AJ and Anna. Thursdays and Fridays will be staffed by Sue, John and Pete. Saturday mornings and our after-hours service will continue to operate as usual.

If you have any questions, contact Wingham and Valley Vets on 6557 0000.
