Shopping for the essentials in Taree earlier this week was, well, a crap experience.

With dozens of coronavirus cases confirmed across the country, panicked residents have resorted to stockpiling toilet paper (for some reason).
Taree's Woolworths, Coles and Aldi stores were not exempt from the pandemonium.
Woolworths Tuncurry and Coles Forster also ran out. The Times understands it was business as usual at Coles Wingham although by Friday there wasn't a square to spare.
Each designated shelf in Woolworths had a customer notice which explained the shortage and enforced a four pack limit on each transaction.
The empty shelves became an attraction, with many disgruntled residents taking photos, pointing and laughing.
Many opportunists have posted their sought-after goods online, with your standard one ply roll going for more than $1000 on eBay.
Stocks have since begun to be replenished as factories work overtime to keep up with the sudden spike in demand.
For the record, there is no suggestion the virus will cause a shortage of toilet paper.
