Jillian is an inspirational woman who was forced to give up her job as a police officer due to a work related injury resulting in the loss of her right arm.
Understandably, she went through a rough time dealing with her injuries and loss of career, battling depression and post traumatic stress disorder.
A friend suggested she try painting as therapy and with a lot of tenacity and some help from local artist Ron Hindmarsh, Jillian is now an artist in her own right and in 2018 went on to curate an art show in conjunction with the Invictus Games Games in Sydney.
This mother of two has had to learn to do everything with her left hand, including teaching Scouts how to tie knots, canoeing, coping with everyday living and now she inspires others to be the best they can be through her love of painting.
The afternoon will start with a short fashion parade by Ashlea Road, followed by Jillian's presentation, leaving everyone ample time to enjoy the Pixie O'Harris exhibition, which is still running at the gallery. A delicious afternoon tea will be served.
Tickets are available from Ashlea Road in Wingham and Margaret's Underfashions in Pulteney Arcade, Taree.
