Next generation topples veterans for Manning snooker title

The Mal Rodger Cup, a combination of snooker, billiards singles and snooker doubles, has wrapped up as part of Manning District Snooker Association's summer teams series.

The final was played at Wingham Services Club and saw the team of three 12-year-old boys ($3Snitz's) victorious against the more experienced Stooges team.

The young team comprised of Will Border, Ky Fulton and Daniel Yan defeating Ron Vidler, Michael Rootes and Craig Johnson 3-1.

Congratulations to the up and coming young generation of players.

The Thursday night teams competition saw minor premiers Wingham Six Shooters fall at the first hurdle to Taree Raiders 3-2.

The other semi final saw Taree Devils defeat Forster 3-1.T

The final, held at Club Taree, had the Taree Devils team of Barry Carlaw, Mark Pennings,Tom Haggarty, Ben Haggarty, Daniel Yan, Jacob Nash and Matt Burke defeat Taree Raiders 3-0.

The new teams competitions on Monday and Thursday nights begin on February 24 and 27.
