Campgrounds, day use areas, beaches and roads in the National Park are now accessible to the public.
All National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) campgrounds, day use areas, 4WD beaches and roads in Myall Lakes National Park have re-opened. NPWS managed roads, including Mungo Brush road and Violet Hill road, are now accessible. Waterways are open and boat-based access to land is now permitted.
Tracks and trails located in Myall Lakes National Park are open except for the Mining Road fire trail and the Mungo walking track.
Despite the rain a park fire-ban remains in place. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Fireworks are not permitted inthe park.
Other national parks and reserves
NPWS are progressively reopening national parks and reserves as fires ease. Some parks and reserves will remain closed until further notice due to damage received during fires, or active fires that are still being managed.

Many state forests remain closed
Signficant closures of state forests across NSW remain in place.
"Fire-affected forests are home to many dangerous trees, which can collapse and fall at any time. Additionally, in times of drought, trees will also fall after significant rain, even in unburnt areas," the Forestry Corporation explained on it's 'Visit NSW State Forests' Facebook page.
"Many of our Forest roads, bridges and pipework have been extensively damaged by fire. Current or future heavy rain will see some roads slump' and become even more dangerous. And in areas that have escaped fire, the road surface is extremely greasy after months of prolonged drought. Any one using our roads after rain will cause extensive damage in many places.
"We will do our best to assess and open unburnt areas as soon as possible but for now, we need to let some of these forests dry out a little."
