"Across the nation, devastating bush fires have impacted on us all," she said.
Mave is organising the Wingham Australia Day event and is urging the community to show support on the day.
"Wingham's annual Australia Day celebrations will not only reflect our past, our present, and our aspirations for the future, but will also honour those who have worked tirelessly and selflessly, to protect and support their own communities and beyond."
As always, the MVHS is presenting the Wingham Australia Day celebrations to be held at Wingham`s Central Park, near the 'log' opposite the Wingham Museum. Starting at 7.30am, the Rotary Club of Wingham will be providing a free "Ozzie" breakfast. The ceremony will begin at 8am.
"If by some wonderful chance there is wet weather, the celebrations will be transferred to the Wingham Town Hall," said Mave.
Noting that it is an early start, Mave is encouraging everyone to rise early and make a special effort to be there this year.
"Residents of Wingham and the Upper Manning Valley are united communities. We hope everyone will join with us for this year's very special community event. Seating is limited, so bring along your portable chairs if you wish, then go on to have a great Australia Day," she said.
