"Selfishly all I want to do is go to the beach and walk on the sand and breath fresh air," she added.
It's a sentiment echoed by many at the moment as the pungent smell of smoke fills our lungs.
But with roads closed and fire dangers ever present locals are staying put and going about their business as normally as possible.
Photographer Scott Calvin was in Wingham on Friday, November 15 and captured these atmospheric images in our town.
He even met up with a group of French students, staying in Australia on working visas. There was nowhere for them to go to escape the smoke, they had just arrived from Woolgoolga where they said it was just as bad.
To keep spirits up they had set up camp at the Wingham Showground and were considering their options.
