Annie will talks about her latest book, 'Undara' at these interactive, free events throughout November.
Her career and studies have spanned the education sector for most of her working life, including a Masters Degree in Education and working as an academic research librarian as well as a high school principal and university tutor.
Annie decided to take early retirement and pursue a lifelong dream to become a full-time writer, resulting in a range of popular novels. Since 2014 she has won several awards and accolades.
"Annie is a highly skilled and accomplished storyteller and these author events are perfect for aspiring writers as well general book lovers," Chris Jones, manager of MidCoast Council Libraries said.
She will be visiting Gloucester Library on November 11 from noon, Wingham Library on November 12 from 11am, Taree Library on November 12 from 5.30pm and Forster Library on November 13 from 5.30pm.
Annie lives near the beach on the Mid North Coast. Each winter, Annie and her husband leave the beach to roam the remote areas of Australia for story ideas and research and this is where she found inspiration for 'Undara'.
In 2016 they visited the Undara lava tubes where ancient roof collapses have formed a network of caves where plants and wildlife thrive in unique ecosystems.
The book focuses on entomologist Emlyn Rees who is escaping her marriage breakdown by burying herself in the hunt for new species of insects in the depths of the dramatic Undara lava tubes.
The author talks are free but bookings are essential. To find out more go to https://library.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/events
