Those visiting the pop up site can have an on-the-spot appointment with a Cost of Living Specialist and they'll help you navigate the support opportunities available to farmers, families and the community through access to the rebates and savings relevant to them.
The Cost of Living team is also accepting donations and food at the pop-up from those who wish to donate to the Rural Aid fundraising appeal.
"Service NSW and the Cost of Living initiative will be a critical way to make sure drought affected communities know about the support available to them at this difficult time," Service NSW chief executive Damon Rees said.
"One of the challenges is making sure farmers and families have access to services and information that can help."
"It can sometimes be difficult to know the full breadth of help that is available or how to access it. Our goal at Service NSW is to make this as easy as possible for impacted communities."
The team will also be having a pop-up at Taree Central on Monday, October 28 from 9am to 4pm.
For those unable to attend the pop-up but wanting to find out more about what assistance is available, visit Service NSW.
Help available includes:
- drought transport subsidy which provides up to $40,000 to eligible farm businesses to help with approved farm-related transport costs
- drought assistance fund which provides interest-free loans to primary producers
- waiver of registration charges on class 1 agricultural vehicles.
"We know that farmers short of time might want to pick up the phone to get advice about these rebates and savings so have that covered too," Mr Rees said.
"Families can call 13 77 88 and our team will be able to give them information about these and other government support."
