There were a few visitors through Tinonee Museum during this last school holidays. One young lady came with her grandmother and had a wonderful time.
Zoe Corner showed grandmother Vicki the various exhibits and was a great tour guide, as she had been before with her school class from Tinonee Public School. Zoe was delighted to be able to try her hand at typing on the very old Imperial Typewriter and try on a fur stole, complete with gloves and fan.
They also enjoyed looking inside the old jail cell and police stables from the former police premises across the road.
The heritage garden area of the museum is being revamped with some pavers and all the plants have enjoyed the rain - let's hope we have some more.
Thanks to members Peter and Ray who have been doing a lot of this work. Work continues inside the display shed, which will be an open display area with machinery on completion.
Tinonee Hall Bunnings Barbecue
Six members from Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Hall worked a busy Bunnings barbecue on Saturday, despite the light showers which fell during the day. Thankfully the Bunnings staff had organized a large tarpaulin to go across the two marquees which kept everything dry.
Takings were on a par with past barbecues and thanks to Bunnings for prizes in the raffle to be drawn at the end of the month. All profits will be put to the maintenance and upkeep of the hall.
Andrew Prentice 80th birthday
Following last Sunday morning's service at St. Luke's Anglican Church, congregation member Andrew Prentice was presented with a delicious chocolate cake, made by wife Sue, to celebrate his 80th birthday of October 15.
Also present for the special occasion was Sue's sister Judy who was visiting for a few days. Congratulations Andrew on your very important milestone and may you celebrate many more birthdays.
Games Day at St Luke's
The games morning and cuppa at St Luke's Church hall every Tuesday is becoming very popular with the older folk. If you would like to find out about it just come along to the white church up on the top of the hill in Winter Street where you will be made most welcome.
School reunion Saturday
This coming Saturday evening is the Wingham High School reunion for classes from 1964-1969 at the Wingham Services Club.
Hubby John is on the committee and we will be there, so will have a full report on it in next week's column along with some photos hopefully. That is if his fellow classmates are not too shy to show how they have matured over the years.
