Cooper took out first place in the 2019 JM class for nine to under 12 years on a 65cc motorcycle, and was undeafeated throughout the entire series.
"It felt really good because it was in my first year of racing, and to think that I could win a NSW Off Road at the start was out of this world for me," Cooper says.
Not only did he take home the winners tropy in the JM class, but he also took out second place in his Enduro class on his 85cc motorcycle.
Cooper first started riding at an early age - he says three years old, his dad, Brad, says four, when he showed an interest in older brother Blake's bike.
It's a family affair, with Blake also taking part in the racing, and Brad having ridden in his younger years.
"I can't keep up with the boys so I don't try anymore," he laughs.
Cooper and Blake train together on the family's property at Caparra, and the family frequently travels from Kyogle in the north to Nowra in the south for the boys' competitions.
Next year Cooper will be competing on his 85cc bike, as his 65cc is being sold. His next goal is to take out the championship on the bigger bike.
When asked if it was something he wanted to do as a career when he grows up, Cooper's response was, "If I had the opportunity I would take it."
Cooper is semi sponsored by Mid Coast Bearing Centre in Taree.
"We'd also like to thank Taree Motorcycles for their help, Brad said.
