"We can't use Old Bar Reserve because the line markings at the fields there are for other sports,'' Group Three chief executive Mal Drury said.
"But Taree City's happy for us to use the Jack Neal Oval. That might also help spread a bit of interest in Taree for the nines.''
Eleven teams will contest the nines following the withdrawal of Port City.
While there's no side from Taree there's two from Old Bar and Forster-Tuncurry while Wingham will also be represented.
All games will be on Friday nights, with the first matches kicking off from 6.30.
The night will conclude at 8.30.
However, the opening day will be at Wauchope on Saturday October 12.
