"It's time for the bulky waste clean-up to head to the Manning region and we know people around the zone are already getting everything prepared," said Amy Hill of MidCoast Council.
"Just a reminder though, anything placed out earlier than two days before the pick-up in your zone is considered illegal dumping and you could be fined."
Council says no waste should be placed out prior to this weekend, and then only by zone one residents - from Hallidays Point
No waste should be placed out prior to this weekend, and only then by residents in Zone 1, extending from the Hallidays Point area through Nabiac to The Bucketts Way west of Tinonee Cemetery.
To find which zone you belong in, and what is acceptable and not acceptable to be left for collection, check the recently delivered brochure or visit www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/bulkywaste
Waste must be separated into two piles - one for scrap metal and whitegoods, and a separate pile for general and electronic waste.
Place the waste on the roadside where you normally leave your bins, making sure no footpaths or the roadway is obstructed. Each of the two piles must not exceed a standard trailer, or it may be rejected. And to avoid windblown littering, loose items must be tied securely into bundles with rope or string, or contained in sturdy boxes rather than plastic bags.
Although mattresses aren't collected in the clean-up, they can be dropped off at one of Council's Recycling Centres for free.
For more information head to Council's website or call the Customer Service Team on 1300 290 763.
The Bulky Waste clean-up will continue across the Manning area until August 9, and then in the Gloucester area from August 19-30.
