Taree and Wingham students from the Kerrie Renee Dance Studio have returned from a trip of a lifetime performing on board a luxury cruise liner.

The students spent four nights on board Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas where they performed a full show in front of the passengers in the ship's main 870 seat theatre.

While on board, the students also took a masterclass with one of the ship's own performers, and was very surprised and happy to see it was former Port Macquarie dancer Ryan Smith.

The cruise was arranged by the school and was almost a year in the planning.

It took the students down to Melbourne and back and while sailing there were lots of great things to do on board.

But nothing came close to the experience they had performing on the last day of the cruise.

"This was an amazing opportunity for the kids," said dance school principal Kerrie Bates.

"Not many dance schools get the opportunity to perform on board cruise ships so this is an experience the kids will remember for a very long time."

After spending almost 10 years as a cruise ship performer herself, it was very special for Kerrie to see her own students now gracing the stage on the high seas.

A total of 26 people travelled with the group and the adults had as much of a great time as the kids did, some taking part in a huge flash mob dance at the end of the cruise.

Sailing back into Sydney harbour was a perfect way to finish the adventure.
