The 13th annual Wingham Akoostik Music Festival is starting to taking shape to become yet another bumper year of exciting acts.
In what is the second announcement of acts added to the lineup, the Turner Brown Band (Australia/USA) returns. The band made their debut in 2017 and were a crowd favourite on the Sunday. Band member Dom Turner is a regular at Akoostik, having also having played in three previous Akoostik Festivals with Rob Hirst as the duo, The Backsliders.
The second lineup also includes Andrew Swift, Sofiella Watt and the Handsome Husbands, Colin Lillie, Blake O'Connor, Montgomery Church, Mark Oats and Matt Zarb, Hudson Rose and Angus Gill, who will join Diesel and others in the lineup.
This year's Akoostik lineup boasts a number of award-winning acts such as Mason Rack, who took out the 2019 Live Music Award's Best Live Act, and country alternative sensation Andrew Swift, winning not one but two Golden Guitars this year.
Two Mid North Coast young country stars shone at this year's Tamworth Country Music Festival with Port Macquarie's Blake O'Connor winning Starmaker of the Year and Wingham's own Hudson Rose making the top 10 finalists in the Tamworth Busking Championships.
Colin Lillie, who has also performed previously at Akoostik, was a contestant on last year's The Voice competition.
Each year Akoostik fuses together a solid lineup of blues, roots, country, rock and alternative acts with festival organisers always satisfying the audience through their boundless tastes.
On-site camping (or glamping for those looking to do the festival in style) allows festival-goers to fully immerse themselves in the music, entertainment and cultural experiences offered throughout this unique event.
More acts will be announced in the coming months.
The 2019 Wingham Akoostik Music Festival is being held at Wingham Showground from Friday October 18 to Sunday October 20.
