WINGHAM'S Jake Mullen capped off a successful season when he was named the Manning Cricket Association's second grade player of the year.

Mullen finished with 63.60 points. He also led Wingham to a back-to-back premiership while Wingham also finished the minor premiers. Mullen enjoyed a fruitful year with the bat and ball, taking 20 wickets and scoring 448 runs with one century.
Blake Thompson, also from Wingham, was the top batsman in second grade, finishing with 457 runs. He was also named the association's representative player of the year.
Damon Minett from Old Bar had the best average with 54.67.
Tom Kelly from Old Bar took the most wickets with 22 while Murray McCartney from United had the best bowling average with 6.00.
Geoff Matherson from Bulahdelah was the third grade player of the year, compiling 59.60 points. Bulahdelah won the major and minor premierships.
Derek Baker from Old Bar was the top run scorer with 471 while Brett Monks from Great Lakes led the averages with 54.80.
Old Bar's Keir McSkimming won the bowling aggregate with 23 while Bulahdelah's Nathan Fletcher had the best average with 8.06.
Ian Cameron was the over 35s player of the year. Manning won the Mid North Coast inter-district over 35 competition for the second successive season.
Wingham won the club championship with 258 points.
Ashley Kippax from Old Bar was named the captain of the year. The Tony Weston Spirit of Cricket award went to Michael Adams, captain of the Great Lakes third grade side.
Sam Whitbread from United was the best of the Manning-area bowlers in the Mid North Coast Premier League. Whitbread had a standout season, leading the aggregate with 31 wickets at 12.35.
Taree West's Josh Meldrum was the best of the Manning batsmen. He only batted on 11 occasions but plundered 446 runs to finish second on the overall tally. Meldrum had the best average in the league with 49.56.
United won the premier league premiership when beating Wauchope RSL in the grand final at Chatham Park. United also finished minor premiers.
After leading the premier league competition for much of the season, Wingham stumbled to finish third and were bundled out in the semi-final when beaten by Wauchope.
David Rees was the most successful Wingham bowler in the premier league, finishing fifth overall with 24 wickets.
Michael Rees was the top Wingham batsman, scoring 432 runs at 33.23. He was third overall.
Wingham did win the premier league T20 competition.
