What a momentous week for two Wingham Lady bowlers Chris Willey and twin sister Leonie Gilford. This year it was the elder sister's turn to try one better on younger sister Leonie but it was not to be.

Chris Willey is now runner-up District Single's Champion for 2019 with Sarah Boddington taking the title of District Singles Champion for 2019. Wow, congrats to you both on your skill set and displaying good sportsmanship during your match.
Chris's journey started by playing L. Ruprecht, TW with Chris leading 21/19 and the match continued next day with Chris winning this game. Chris then played C. Pipper TW in the morning followed by an afternoon match against R. Condello (F) with another win.
This win took Chris to play in the District Final at Leagues Club Taree. Sarah Boddington was in scintillating form taking this prestigious title. Chris, enjoy the moment and we at Wingham Bowling Club are all very proud of you on this high achievement. Special congratulations from us all.
Now for sis number two, Leonie's story, who is now the Club (Wingham) Major Singles Champion for 2019. Leonie played Claudia O'Donnell for the title with Leonie coming out of the blocks from the start. Claudia had a fine four-pointer on the ninth end but could not get her game going as she normally does. Congrats to you both.
