The band will perform timeless hits from stage and screen classics such as West Side Story, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mary Poppins, Oklahoma and many more.

Vocalists George Hoad, Jodi Cooper and Lisette De Gray will also feature, with songs including Ol’ Man River, Pie Jesu, and Summertime.

Music from giants of the Broadway stage, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Lowe and Andrew Lloyd Webber, who were equally confident composing for the screen, feature throughout the program.

The audience will also hear music of John Williams, one of the most successful film composers in Hollywood. His work for films include themes from Stars Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws and Indiana Jones.

The Manning Valley Concert Band, previously known as the Greater Taree City Band, can trace its formation back to around 1915.

With a diverse group of about 35 players, the band aims to offer players the highest standard of concert band performance.

The band rehearses on Monday evenings and members range in age from 11 years to 70+ years. 

A concert band, also called wind ensemble, wind band, or symphonic band, is a performing ensemble consisting of woodwind, brass, and percussion families of instruments.

Additional non-traditional instruments such as piano and bass guitar are often added to concert bands.
