Wingham skipper Michael contributed 45 at the head of the order, whilst David recorded a season-high 52 not out to guide their team home with 4/157.
Magpies captain Ben Marron had no hesitation in batting first, but he was the first back in the pavilion, bowled by Dave Rees for six. McVicar and Jones took the score to 49 when Michael trapped McVicar LBW for 15.
Jones (28), Bray (5) and Harris (8) fell in quick succession for Magpies to be 5/85 before Minns and Cocking added 34 for the sixth. At that point Cocking was caught behind off Allwood for 18 before Minns was bowled by McTaggart for 28. Dave Rees picked up the wickets of Broderick (10) and Todd (5) before Scott (12x) and Badenoch (3x) held out to finalise Magpies innings.
The Wingham bowlers were again on target with David Rees returning 3/22, Michael Rees 2/22, Steve Allwood (1/34), Ryan Smoothy (1/31) and Josh McTaggart (1/23).
Ryan Morris and Michael Rees added 50 from the first seven overs with Broderick (0/28 off 3) bearing the brunt. However, the introduction of Felton to the attack reaped rewards as he collected three wickets inside four overs.
Firstly Morris was bowled for a neat 28, then Ben Cole LBW for one, followed by the prized wicket of Rees for 45. Wingham were now 3/81 after 12 overs, and with a depleted batting line-up and poor recent form, another collapse seemed possible.
That’s where David Rees stepped in. Promoted to bat at number four, the talented all-rounder dug in and with the assistance of Second Grade Captain, Jake Mullen the pair added 33 over the next nine overs until Mullen was caught behind for 8/40 balls.
Rees then guided 16 year old Blake Thompson in hunting down the remaining 39 runs, with Thompson hitting consecutive boundaries before Rees finished things off by hitting a six for victory in the 25th over. He nudged eight fours and the sole six in his most important innings of the year.
Felton was the pick of the Magpies trundler, returning 3/38 off seven overs whilst Badenoch’s six overs cost just 14 runs.
