The fire was yesterday listed as out of control and had burnt out 17,000 hectares. It spread quickly in multiple directions under strong and gusty winds on Wednesday afternoon. A state-wide total fire ban was in place because of the hot windy conditions.
Just after midday yesterday, the RFS warned there was a threat to homes and lives.
