In August 2018, four firefighters from Wherrol Flat brigade were injured after the Bobin tanker they were in rolled down a hill while they were battling a blaze at Caparra near Taree.
NSW RFS inspector Guy Duckworth and Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead handed over the vehicle to Bobin group captain Ian Sirett.
Mr Bromhead said the Bobin RFS, located next to Bobin Hall, is a focal point for the community and this new truck will be a welcome addition.
“The Bobin brigade has been involved in a number of S44 events and attended a number of protracted incidents across the district,” Mr Bromhead said.
“Bobin is a small brigade of 12 members who operate in a remote and isolated community with rugged terrain. I know they will find this new truck a real asset.”
The brigade attends mostly bush and grass fires and occasional structure and motor vehicle incidents.
The new Cat7 dual cab Isuzu is valued at $116,710.
