Thursday January 24
Will be the continuation the first round of the Club Fours Championship and to play will be:
D Polley, J Duncan, C Kriss, C O’Donnell vs M Walsh, N Sandford, C Willey, L Gilford.
The ‘play or forfeit’ rule will apply.
Social Bowls will also be played.
Special mention:
New start time for bowls, ladies.
Reason – too hot and humid so from now your bowls start on the green at 9am.
So please if time permits, be at the club around 8.30am so you can have a short relax and chatter, do the raffle thing and order lunch.
The pennant team list is on the board along with copy of the draw for your perusal, ladies.

Wingham Men’s Bowls
January 16
Wednesday 'Dad's Army,’ 9am
With a +10 Allan Waters, Lorne Pillotto and Mick Hollebone were the winners by defeating Col Gordon, George Floyd and John Costa.
Keith Jolly eventually got into the money when he teamed with Greg Bartlett and Kev Coles with a +5 result over Col Hinton, Scott Hatton and Winston Lattimore.
Tony Baker and Tim Richardson held commanding leads against Eric Weir and Allan Dodd on a number of ends but the end result went to Tony and Tim with a shot difference 23-22.
Playing out a 23 all draw were the teams of Ben Wolters and Justin Costa up against Brian Williams and George Sinclair.
January 18
Friday open pairs, 5pm
Leonie and Glenn Gilford won their four sets to win the event and they made 'short work' of Lillian Cross and Greg Bartlett in their first encounter by winning 11-2 and 9-2.
Then came Lorne Pillotto and Jim Gillogly with two wins a draw and a loss.
Greg and Lillian did better in their next encounter by winning both sets.
With a single set win were George Floyd and Elaine Holden.
Glen and Laurelle Dennes managed a single set win
Also with a set win were Dallas and Mark Hammond.
January 19
Saturday
Due to excessive heat the arranged pennant trial games were called off and the selectors will now concentrate on a trial against Gloucester at our club in February.
This Saturday we have a sponsored open event.
