It comprises four sets of five ends and on a number of occasions those who have been successful have been requested to change partners for the following week. It was so last Friday when bowls preso Greg Bartlett and Jim Gillogly took home the big money with their three end wins and a +15 to edge out Peter Holden and George Floyd. The winners here are now going in next week with other players.
On previous evenings those who were requested to change were Kiwi Matheson and his partner, and Kiwi is now with AJ Gregory. The format has encouraged many of our bowlers to stay around for the low-key formalities and enjoy the evening proceedings around the club.
Saturday sponsored day
Last week we were fortunate to have another sponsor and despite the heat, many of our members, together with three from Manning Point, weathered the conditions.
Coming in with a 15 to take the most loot were Col Watson and Elaine Holden. Hunter Payton and Greg Bartlett finished with a +11 to get runner-up money.
We have been lucky during the past six months to have a number of full green entries on those occasions to keep our club rolling along.
Wednesday – Dad's Army
This event continues to attract very good entries and last week 26 tried to win, however the better of them were Jammie Carr and Snow Trenchard with a 32-21 win over Ben Wolters and Steve Pullman.
Pennant news
It now seems that we will be entitled to enter three grades in the competition which commences the second week of March. We have an 'in-house' trial on the 19th and the selectors – Michael Clarke, Jim Gillogly, Chris Kane and Peter Brown – will have those trial teams on the notice board this week.

The best result went to Rex Dawson, Denise Matheson, David O'Donnell and Elaine Holden of the six teams entered.

Tony Baker has waited some time before collecting any money but he and Barry Kershaw certainly did it with their 30-12 win against Snow Trenchard and Greg Cuttance.
Friday open pairs (5pm)
AJ Gregory had a load to carry when he played with Denise Matheson but they won four of the sets played and took home the largest amount of money.
