Hot-desking is no longer just for city creatives.

The co-working trend has reached Wingham and there are plenty of rooms to share.

A new space has opened up on the corner of Canget and Bent Streets for professional types to rent an office for as little as an hour.

Home to a medical practice since the 1970s, the old building is ideal for medical professionals, says project coordinator Mini Felber.

“We’d really like services that will benefit the community,” she said.

With a number of treatment rooms, a waiting room, two toilets, communal kitchen and a conference room available the basics are in place for a number of different services.

A dietitian has already started operating from the building once a fortnight and a podiatrist is also renting space.

But Mini assures us the opportunity is not limited to medical professionals.

Graphic designers, freelancers or even students are welcome to rent space by the hour, day or week – whatever suits their needs.

“It’s open to whatever it’s going to evolve into,” said Mini.

Each office is air conditioned and the building has Wi-Fi. On site fax machines are available for use and  storage means hot-deskers can leave some items in the building.

A small office will cost around $40 a day.
