It is called The Book of Bobin and is a book of short stories written by the students.
“The students were so inspired after our novel writing project with Michael Davies earlier this year that they just wanted to keep creating stories. It’s become one of their favourite things to do,” teacher Sarah Parker said.
Once the students had written and edited their work, local author Michael Davies helped with the final manuscript.
“I was just so impressed by the creativity of the students during our book writing project that it was no surprise they’ve written enough stories to fill another book. It seemed like a very good idea to publish them,” Michael said.
Michael has been an author in residence at the school this year and the students have found this very encouraging for their own creative work.
“It was an awesome experience and it’s exciting for heaps of people to read your book,” said Maia, a year two student at the school.
“Almost every student at our school has contributed a story for the book. There is a great variety in there,” school principal Diane Myer said.
“We’re very proud of their achievement. It’s wonderful to see children so inspired to create.”
