They are Barrie ‘Carrots’ Morrison and Gary Bridge. Former Group Three chief executive Barrie Smith and Gloucester’s Keith Tull are the other two.
Morrison, a front rower, started playing rugby league with Taree Old Bar before moving to Newcastle, where he turned out with Macquarie United. However, after returning to Group Three and Taree Old Bar in 1972, he switched to Wingham in 1973. He later played for the Tigers in 1978 and finished his career with Wingham in 1982.
Bridge, a halfback/five-eighth, is a Taree United junior but switched to Wingham in 1981 when Daryl Palmer was the captain-coach. He was selected to play for Country Seconds on wing that year while he also played in midweek cup games. He signed with Balmain the following year.
