It is certainly a faster format of the game with kids and parents alike warming to it now, and Wingham lucky enough to come away with a win.
Wingham won the toss and elected to bat, with Blake Thompson and Tom Martin opening up the batting.
Blake fast-tracked scoring two fours and with a maximum of just 17 balls each ensured Wingham got a great start to reach 26 before Blake was bowled by Josh Jones in the fifth over.
Tom and Cooper Staff then pushed the score to 49 before Tom departed for 14 in the ninth. No batsman then reached double figures but most contributed for Wingham to be all out for 88 in the 20th over.
Taree West then went in to bat with Nathan Smith and Jack Campbell miserly in their first eight overs to have the home side scoring just two runs per over.
Cooper then teamed up with Blake for the next six overs to have the score 3-40 before brothers, RJ and Jack Shepherd, and Clancy Johnston finished the tail for Taree who fell 23 runs short after their allotted 20 overs. Blake finished with four wickets while Jack C took two, with Tom taking a great stumping and Jack C a “safe-as-houses” catch in the midfield.
Wingham next week have the bye before returning to Cedar Party on the 15th to play their final game of the calendar year against Taree West again.
