The Wingham Under 10 Sixers returned to their winning ways with a solid win against Forster Jacks Moving, last Saturday.
Wingham won the toss, and with a slightly damp outfield, decided to bowl first.
Forster’s openers got their side off to a brisk start but the Wingham bowlers were able to take wickets at regular intervals.
Ned Crawford (3/13, four overs), Arabella Roohan (2/11, three overs) and Angus Abbott (1/7, three overs) were the best of the Wingham bowlers.
Sam Harris and Kobi Lucas shared the keeping duties, with both doing a great job, with Sam’s quick thinking leading to a run out.
Forster completed their 20 overs with 9/115.
Lincoln Smith (23) and Ned Crawford (15) got the Wingham innings off to a “flyer” with 52 runs struck from the first six overs. Lincoln found the boundary on four occasions, with some super strokes in the lush conditions.
The Wingham middle order kept the scoreboard ticking before Arabella Roohan finished the innings with an enterprising 12, including a beautiful flick shot over square leg for four.
The Sixers completed their 20 overs at 5/151.
Under 10 Thunder
The Wingham Under 10’s Thunder had a comfortable victory against Lower Manning United.
Wingham scored 3/91 from their 20 overs at Cundletown Oval. Gus Loretan top scored with 26, along with Shawn Griffin (23), Rylie Murray (16) ensured Wingham compiled a solid total.
Lower Manning United made 7/25 with Jaeda Gallagher and Jack Wheatley taking wickets for the local side.
The Sixers have the bye next week while the Thunder versus Forster Professionals Real Estate.
Under 12s
The U12's played Bulahdelah at home last Saturday and after winning the toss chose to bat first.
The home team was in trouble early with Bulahdelah getting four quick wickets before a solid captain’s knock by Cae Allen (23 runs) and valuable contributions from Kaden Lane, Jackson Barry, Oscar Platt and Bailey Timmins (12 runs) gave Wingham something to defend.
The Wingham opening bowlers bowled tight early but had no luck finding a break through.
Cae Allen claimed the only wicket for Wingham as Bulahdelah went on to a convincing win.
Wingham 7/114 were defeated by Bulahdelah 1/116.
Under 16s
The Under 16’s had the bye this week.
