President, John Dorrington presented the local sub branch with another donation to bring their help up to $1200.
“Our local Rotarians are conscious of the need to continue the welfare and commemorative efforts of our ex services organisation here in Wingham. We especially recognise the importance of these good works in the year of the Centenary of the World War I armistice.” John said.
Terry Gould, Wingham RSL Sub-branch president said members were grateful for the support and understanding shown by Wingham Rotary.
“This donation will assist our volunteer and accredited Welfare Advocate Team to continue assistance to all local Veterans, whether RSL Members or not,” he said.
‘Significant legal and enforceable charity undertakings are moving ahead rapidly and we hope to have fundraising approved for Poppy Day, the Remembrance Service and the Armistice Concert on November 11.
‘This concert will see all local and Upper Manning schools participating to celebrate the freedoms and legacies left to us by those who served, suffered or made the supreme sacrifice for us today. We are very pleased that Wingham Rotary will be involved in providing a sausage sizzle to round out what promises to be a fitting salute to their service to the Nation.”
