The Taree Equestrian Centre’s second annual Charity Rainforest Ride will be held on Saturday, November 17 in the Koorainghat State Forest between Taree and Old Bar.
All proceeds of the ride will go towards a local para-equestrian grading fun and competition day.
Currently local para-equestrians have to travel interstate for such an event.
The inaugural ride last year attracted 43 riders and raised nearly $3000 for worthy causes.
This year’s event is set to be bigger and better and Jazz hopes local riders with their own horse will support the trail ride as enthusiastically as they did last year.
The 18-year-old dressage rider has been out and about on her horse Huey with organiser Richard Paff seeking out new trails for the day.
Riders can expect “really, really pretty” trails as a result of their efforts.
The two hour escorted ride will take in newly discovered rainforest trails which offer a variety of terrain and the natural beauty of the forest.
Rides can expect to see gullys and staghorns and there’s even some challenging steep bits too.
Man From Snowy River steep, according to Jazz and her mum Sharon Chamberlain who is helping to organise the ride.
The minimum age for riders is high school age and the event is of course BYO horse.
Bookings essential with the cost of entry being $50. Entry price includes billy tea and damper freshly made on the day.
The ride will start at 8am at Taree Equestrian Centre on Old Bar Road.
