The outcomes from the series of workshops being held across the local government area will inform the development of a draft Housing Strategy.
“We currently have different residential zones being used across the three former regions, so now is the time for us to review our planning rules and make them consistent across the MidCoast”, MidCoast Council’s Roger Busby said.
The focus for the upcoming housing workshop is to review how our residential zones currently work, and discuss a potential suite of residential zones that may cater for our diverse and changing housing needs, while maintaining the heritage character.
“The aim of the Housing Strategy will be very much around providing for a mix of housing choices and addressing the needs of our future population,” Mr Busby said.
The Wingham workshop will be held from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Wingham Services Club, 28-38 Bent Street. Registrations are required by Tuesday, October 23, and can be made by emailing community@midcoast.nsw.gov.au or by phoning 6591 7222.
