Lauren is a member of the Taree Arts Council’s Les Miserables cast and has been performing with the arts council for the past decade.
She joined the Trapps in early May this year and the band has been busy playing shows over the past few months, most recently at Longview on the October long weekend.
The Trapps appear at the Akoostik on Friday evening, October 19. Their new CD “River City Blues” is available for purchase at the Akoostik or via iTunes, Spotify or Soundcloud from October 15. The CD is all-original, the five songs composed by the Trapps, recorded in Sureshot studios in Wingham, and mastered in USA by Chris Graham.
Trapps was originally formed in the 1970s and was revived by Brett Godwin and Kevin Ballard in 2013. The current lineup includes Lauren, John Ballard and Brian Lambert. Early in 2013 they were chosen as Mid North Coast finalists in the ABC Radio Exhumed competition.
Headlining the Wingham Akoostik Festival this year is Dragon, performing on Friday night, and Diesel on Saturday night.
The Akoostik is in its 12th year and features three days of music, perrformance, art, markets stalls and great food, beer and wine.
