Following nine weeks of learning and training during school sport every Friday, The RFS Fire Cadets graduated with distinction last Friday at Central Park in Wingham.
In front of officials, including Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie and deputy mayor Clr Kathryn Smith, the cadets demonstrated the skills they have honed during the program.
The NSW RFS Secondary Schools Cadet Program provides year nine and 10 students with an insight into fire safety and prevention whilst developing practical life skills and a general appreciation of community service and volunteerism.
Wingham High School will continue the support of the program next year and students are encouraged to consider it as a school sport option in 2019.
