“Even though all managerial positions were filled at the recent Annual General Meeting the Society is desperately in need of volunteers to assist with and ensure the continued longevity of this wonderful community event,” Wingham Show Society president, Ian Murray said.
If you have some spare time, and are looking for a way to volunteer for the community, the Show Society has many ways you can donate your specific skills and time.
You may have an interest and can assist with administration, pavilion exhibits (cakes, flowers, and needlework, for example), poultry, horses, beef cattle. Maybe you could assist in the kiosk, in the bar or just want to offer general help wherever you can.
“It doesn’t mean you will be asked to take on a Steward’s role or become part of the management team, although that would be the ultimate if you have that type of experience,” Ian said.
“The show is organised by the community for the community and we need assistance from the community.”
If you want to know more contact secretary Sue Harris on 0427 591 680, or president Ian Murray on 0408 294 644 would be delighted to have a yarn with you anytime.
