Giving is more joyous than receiving, that was the feeling at the CWA rooms on Friday morning.

Each year Wingham CWA makes a donation to the Samaritan Taree Women’s and Children’s Refuge.
This year it was decided, that while linen sales were on, the donation would be in kind rather than in cash.
As the discussion circled many members and friends realised that their linen presses were crowded with unused items “too good to throw away”.
The result, two tables stacked with new and top quality revived linen.
A delighted Suzi Rowe, director of the refuge, came to take charge of her bounty.
It was smiles all round and and such a happy time as snaps were taken to record the result and load Suzi’s back seat to overflowing.
Suzi had previously spoken at a CWA meeting and explained how departing guests left with a keep package to start their new homes.
Margaret Wilkinson had also spoken to members of the comfort packs that she assembles, with toothpaste and brushes, soap, hair brush and shampoo etc.
We well knew of the distress some women endure. Indeed it was a joy to give.
An added joy was the presence of two new members. One a city lady who felt that now she was in the country the thing to do was to become a Country Woman. The other a trusted member from a sister branch.
